In honor of my birthday, I decided to dedicate this post to my younger self. I recognize that every single thing that I have experienced during this lifetime has brought me to this moment. I’ve learned so much and I want to share with you some of the things I would tell my younger self if I had the chance.
I love birthdays. My birthday is actually one of my favorite holidays (the second one is New Years). The reason I love both of those holidays is because they signify new beginnings to me. I use those days as a time to reflect and go within. They both help me to evaluate my life and think about my next steps.
As I become a year older, I recognize that I am also a year wiser. I’ve experienced my fair share of lessons along the way. One of the things I’m most proud of is developing a closer relationship with my intuition. My spiritual awakening journey has brought me closer to it and I’ve made it a point to actually listen to it. That has come with making difficult decisions and taking difficult actions. I trust that it’s all worth it and it’s all getting me closer to the life I envision for myself!
Here are 10 things I would tell my younger self:

1. There are no rules to this thing we call life
It may feel that you have to follow certain rules to get ahead but in reality, rules don’t exist. You can choose who you want to be at any time. You have the freedom to do whatever you want at any time.
2. Take care of your body
Stop consuming so much sugar!! lol. Just because you don’t look “unhealthy” doesn’t mean you’re not. Removing processed sugars and junk food will take time and so much effort but it’ll be worth it. Start NOW.
3. Choose yourself without looking back
Start listening to that inner voice. It’s always right. By listening to it, you’ll get closer to where you’re destined to be so choose yourself without overthinking it.
4. Take action especially when it feels scary
You are strong and capable. Face the fear by taking action anyway. It is what will cause the most growth and expansion.
5. It’s okay to change your mind at any time
Even when you get what you thought you wanted, it’s okay to change your mind at any time. Don’t think about the time/effort/money invested. If it no longer feels right, then it’s perfectly fine to move on.
6. Stop putting so much pressure on yourself
Your parents are already proud of you. You don’t have to prove anything to anyone. The pressure you’re putting on yourself is simply self-imposed so work on releasing it and just live your life. Choose to know that life gets to be easy for you.
7. Don’t settle for less than what you know you deserve
You are worthy and deserving of everything you want. Stay true to who you are. You know yourself so stop settling for less. Trust that what is meant to be yours will make its way to you.
8. There’s no such thing as failure
Try new things. All the time. Never stop. There is no such thing as failure. View it as redirection instead. Everything you decide to try will get you closer to where you’re meant to be.
9. Trust the process
You’re going to experience some shitty moments. Feel those feelings and continue moving forward. Trust the process because it will all be a part of a bigger picture someday.
10. It’s not the end of the world
Eventually you’ll face things that feel too difficult to handle, but you can handle it all. What doesn’t kill you will make you stronger. Take risks, take the unconventional path that doesn’t make sense to anyone, enjoy life. It’s not the end of the world.
Final thoughts
I hope you enjoyed these 10 things I would tell my younger self. This birthday has been the most transformative thus far. Last year today I was in a completely different head space than I am today. I had recently purchased the domain for this blog but I hadn’t published my first post. I was so scared to take action because I kept overthinking everything.
Now I have published over 50 blog posts and counting. I created an Instagram as well where I’m growing my community and serving you guys on the daily. Everything that I’ve done has taken effort with intention. I was scared because it was all new experiences to me but I did it anyway. I share all this with the hope that you know you can do it too. If you need help, let me know!
