We are Spiritual beings living the human experience. Once you recognize and accept this, life tends to make a little bit more sense and feel slightly easier. Here are 5 books for your spiritual awakening.
The following books are in no particular order. I have a feeling this will become a mini series and I will be sharing more spiritual books to come. The thing is, I only share and suggest books I’ve personally read already. With that being said, I have to admit that my “to read” list is never ending but nevertheless, I look forward to reading more of these types of books and sharing them with you!
1. Ask and It Is Given: Learning to Manifest Your Desires by Esther Hicks, Jerry Hicks
Book description from Goodreads: “Ask and It Is Given, by Esther and Jerry Hicks, which presents the teachings of the nonphysical entity Abraham, will help you learn how to manifest your desires so that you’re living the joyous and fulfilling life you deserve.”
This is one of the best Law of Attraction books out there and a great book for spiritual awakening. It is best to read it slowly in order to fully grasp the concepts in each page. This book teaches all about how our vibrations affect our reality. It teaches about the power of our emotions and how to use them to our benefit to manifest our desires.
This is a great book to start out with from this list because of its simplicity. It even dedicates a full part of the book to processes you can do to manifest what you desire. Finally, I love how it is also full of empowering words reminding you that you are a co-creator in the Universe and that “there is nothing that you cannot be, do or have”
2. A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose by Eckhart Tolle
Description from Goodreads: “In A New Earth,” Tolle expands on these powerful ideas to show how transcending our ego-based state of consciousness is not only essential to personal happiness, but also the key to ending conflict and suffering throughout the world. Tolle describes how our attachment to the ego creates the dysfunction that leads to anger, jealousy, and unhappiness, and shows readers how to awaken to a new state of consciousness and follow the path to a truly fulfilling existence.”
I chose this book because it is the one that I feel explains the ego in the clearest way. It describes everything that makes up the ego and brings light to the fact that “only presence can free you of the ego.” This book outlines everything you need to know to awaken spiritually from understanding pain and suffering to breaking free, to ultimately finding inner peace. Life simply makes sense after reading this book.
3. You Can Heal Your Life by Louise L. Hay
Book description from Goodreads: “This New York Times best seller has sold over 30 million copies worldwide. Louise L. Hay, bestselling author, is an internationally known leader in the self-help field. Her key message is: “If we are willing to do the mental work, almost anything can be healed.”
Louise Hay is one of the founders of the self-help movement. She truly has impacted countless lives through her books, speaking engagements and spirit. In the late 70’s Louise was diagnosed with cervical cancer. She believed it was a result of resentment towards the abuse she experienced as a child. Louise chose to heal using alternative methods consisting of visualization, affirmations and psychotherapy.
You Can Heal Your Life was published shortly after overcoming cancer. It has now sold over 30 million copies worldwide. I chose this book because it offers a different perspective on diseases and illnesses. We are born to be healthy beings. One of Louise’s beliefs is that “all dis-ease comes from a state of unforgiveness.” In the book she explains it all and even provides a complete list of every health problem you can think of along with the probable cause and a new thought pattern to begin healing it.
4. Spirit Babies: How to Communicate with the Child You’re Meant to Have by Walter Makichen
Book description from Goodreads: “Leading clairvoyant and medium Walter Makichen offers guidance to prospective parents eager to create a warm, nurturing environment for their soon-to-be-conceived-or-born children. Applying the wisdom and insights he has gained through twenty years of communicating with these spirit babies, Makichen helps you resolve issues about starting a family…actively participate in the psychic process of creating a child…and move past your worries and fears about becoming parents.”
I cannot recommend this book enough. It definitely belongs in this list of books for spiritual awakening. Every mother and mother-to-be should read this book because it will deepen your connection with children, especially your own. Spirit Babies opened up my eyes to the idea that babies choose only their parents but when they want to be born. These souls live in another realm until they are ready for the human experience.
A huge takeaway I recall is that as some spirit babies begin the transition process to become human, they can still “back out” of their soul contract if they don’t feel ready. This can happen via miscarriage which is a new perspective to ponder being that there is so much stigma that comes with miscarrying a child. Women tend to blame themselves for this when in reality it could be that their future child is the one not ready to be born yet.
This book has helped me feel better about not having children of my own yet as a daughter of immigrants. There has been so much pressure for me to take that step but it hasn’t felt right and this book provided clarity and certainty that there is divine timing for everything.
5. Many Lives Many Masters by Brian L. Weiss, M.D
Book description from Goodreads: “As a traditional psychotherapist, Dr. Brian Weiss was astonished and skeptical when one of his patients began recalling past-life traumas that seemed to hold the key to her recurring nightmares and anxiety attacks. His skepticism was eroded, however, when she began to channel messages from the space between lives, which contained remarkable revelations about Dr. Weiss’ family and his dead son. Using past-life therapy, he was able to cure the patient and embark on a new, more meaningful phase of his own career.”
This final choice made my list of books for spiritual awakening because it is the most intriguing one I’ve read about reincarnation. Because it is well written and descriptive, it captivates the reader from the very beginning. This book explores the idea that we all have multiple past lives that are accessible under hypnosis. Learning about your past lives can help alleviate problems or conditions you are facing in this lifetime.
This book is a game changer if you’re a truth seeker like I am. It inspired me to experience an eye opening hypnotherapy session of my own. It makes me wonder how the world would look if more people explored the concept of past lives and reincarnation.
Final Thoughts
I hope you enjoy reading these books for your spiritual awakening. Please remember to make sure you read them with an open mind especially if you’re new to these views. I believe the best way to evolve in this world is to explore and try new things no matter what our upbringing looked like. This includes learning new things too. We won’t progress if we remain stagnant and stuck in our ways.
These books will begin to open your mind to possibilities and ideas that have the potential to shift our whole world. Some of the books on this list will resonate with you more than others and that’s okay. Let me know your thoughts!
