Staying in the manifestation spirit before the new year, I decided to share with you all things manifestation journaling. In this post you’re going to learn what it is and how you can begin implementing it to manifest your goals and desires.
What is manifestation journaling?
Manifestation journaling is a type of conscious journaling with the purpose to attract your desires. The way you do this is by getting clear on what you want (a.k.a being intentional) and then using a technique or two that I’m sharing with you below.
Having a designated journal strictly for manifestation is highly recommended because it holds a special type of energy. I’m a huge fan of having different journals that serve their own purpose. For example, you can keep a gratitude journal specifically to write down a daily gratitude list, you can also keep a journal for venting or “brain dumping” to release your emotions, etc.
Clarity comes first
The most important step in manifestation is getting clear with what you want. Being crystal clear is important because when you are unsure you are leaking and spreading your energy all over the place. By deciding what you want, it brings focus and intention sending out that clear message out in the Universe to bring it to you faster.
As mentioned in other posts in this blog, the best way to decide what you want is by going within. Meditation is a great way. So is spending time in nature or simply asking yourself questions while being open to your internal responses. When you do this, make sure you are intentionally being open without being judgmental to the outcome. Allow yourself to see things differently. It can help to even say that phrase out loud (“I am willing to see things differently.”)
Some journal prompts to get you started are the following:
- If limitations didn’t exist and I could have anything I want, what would it be?
- If I had all the money in the world, how would I spend my days?
- What does my dream life look like?
- I am the happiest and most at peace when…
Shift your energy
Once you’ve decided what you want, write down your list. Sit with it in order to feel what comes up when you see it. The purpose of this step is to recognize any feelings that do not serve you. Some journal prompts you can use to clear blockages are simply asking, “Can I really see myself manifesting XYZ?” Write out everything that comes to mind. You might find that you come up with excuses or negative beliefs which can stem from feeling unworthy or undeserving, for example. Once you have your thoughts written out, question them. 99% of the time, they are not true.
It’s important to note that the “how” is not your responsibility. How you’ll manifest your desires has nothing to do with you so don’t focus on it. The Universe works in magical ways. Your job is to decide what you want, clear up your thoughts and energy behind those desires and expect to receive them.
Manifestation journaling techniques
Manifestation gratitude list
Begin by writing down everything you’re currently grateful for and why. This will begin to shift your energy to one of abundance because you’re focusing on things you already have. One example is, “I am grateful for my car because I’m able to drive wherever I want whenever I want.” Continue making your list until you can’t think of anything else.
The next step is to begin adding your desires to your list. It is the same process as your original gratitude list but you’re now adding things you don’t physically have…yet. The trick is to feel (or pretend) as if you already do. For example, if you want to manifest a new phone you can write, “I am so grateful for my new phone because I love all its functions and I’m able to take high quality pictures.” This is a simple way of manifestation journaling because it’s in a list format.
One of my favorite ways to manifest is by “scripting” a.k.a future journaling. Essentially you are writing out your entry as if you already attracted your desire(s). The way to start these types of journal entries is by stating your gratitude. Begin with “I am so happy and grateful now that …” and then allow your words to flow in past tense. The main purpose of this practice is feeling everything you’ll feel once you manifest what you want. Go on a positive high vibe rampage writing about what you manifested and how you feel and how everything worked out for you with ease. For example, if I want to manifest a certain trip, the entry would look something like:
“I am so happy and grateful now that I got to visit the pyramids of Egypt! I can’t believe I finally got to see them in person! The flight was super smooth and we arrived on time with ease. Our hotel was clean and everyone was super helpful and kind. The tour of the pyramids was better than I expected. I learned so much and got to feel the amazing energy of the pyramids, etc etc etc“
“Free write” while embodying having attracted your desires, feeling everything you want to experience. You might even find yourself getting emotional which is totally normal! That is adding more potency to your manifestation that is on its way to you.
Letter to the Universe
Another technique is writing a gratitude letter to the Universe (or God/Source). This is similar to the previous two techniques so feel free to try all three or switch it up as you see fit. This is the simplest to explain since it is pretty self explanatory. You’re literally writing a letter to the Universe thanking it for giving you what you wanted.
A short example (expand as much as you’d like) of this journaling exercise is the following:
Thank you so much for the new connections I’ve made. Thank you for bringing like-minded souls into my life giving me the opportunity to make new friends. I feel so happy now that I have new friends to hang out with and bounce life and business ideas off of. We have so much fun together and are already growing together.
A final manifestation journaling technique is the 55X5 method. This technique consists of you writing down a manifestation affirmation or goal 55 times in one sitting during 5 consecutive days. This method serves as a ritual where you are programming your mind and creating a powerful intention out in the Universe. In numerology, the number 5 indicates change. Please note, it’s important to feel joy when practicing this method.
This technique can be used when you have one particular goal in mind that you want to manifest. When coming up with the affirmation, make sure it is positive, in present tense and try to keep it short (since you’re writing it 55 times). For example, if you’re wanting to get rid of your credit card debt you wouldn’t write, “I am now debt free” because the word debt is still the focus and it carries negative energy. Instead, you could focus on the amount of money and write, “I am so grateful for the extra $3000 I received this week.”
Other examples of manifestation statements are the following:
- I am beyond thankful for my promotion at work!
- I am so grateful now that I have the kitchen of my dreams
- It feels so good to be down 5 pounds
- I am so happy to be going on a date with the man of my dreams this Saturday
- I am so excited for my trip to Egypt next month
- I can’t believe I’m closing on my dream house!
So there you have it. Now you know all about manifestation journaling. I hope you begin to use these techniques to manifest next year’s goals and desires. Finally, as mentioned above, when it comes to manifestation, the most important thing to focus on is the feeling or frequency you hold. Get into a higher frequency in order to manifest your desires faster. Do whatever gets you in a positive mood such as using music, gratitude, nature, even experiences (baths, naps, etc).
